Step 1
Click on ‘F10’
Clicking on the 'Mute' button on 'F10' will turn off your start-up tune until you turn it on.

‘Turn Off’ Sound from Volume Slider
Open the 'Volume Slider' and slide it to zero level to turn off the start-up tone temporarily.

How to Turn Off the Start-Up Tone Permanently
To permanently turn off the sound of the device, you need a terminal command. For doing this, you need to do the following steps:
Step 1
Press the 'Command' and 'Space Bar'
Press the 'Command' and 'Space Bar' to open the 'Spotlight' search tab.

Step 2
Choose the Terminal Option
Type ‘Terminal’ and press ‘Enter’.

Step 3
Make Modifications from the Terminal Window
The terminal window will open and choose to run the following command in the terminal window-
‘sudo nvram SystemAudioVolume=%80’

Step 4
Put ‘Password’ and ‘Restart’
Enter your ‘Password’ when required, and press ‘Enter’. Restart your device, and you won’t listen to the start-up tone.
