I'm using an nvidia IGP motherboard with onboard vga..I want to ad an ati radeon and stop using the onboard..what is the best way to remove the drivers? I've heard people reccomened drivercleaner, but a friend of mine said he used it and it not only removed his video card drivers but also removed his LCD and RAID drivers..not something I want to do..is there any other better driver removal program or would add/remove from the control panel followed up buy tweaknow regcleaner be enough?

thanks

driver cleaner is definitely recommended here.

That's funny that he didn't know how to use the program.

Classic case of having just enough knowledge to be dangerous. Better they would have been truly clueless and fallen back to the standard cure-all of the 1337 n00b: the format! Haw haw.

ok I'll try drivercleaner..whats the best driver to use for a BB ATI Radeon 9800NP? I notice on ATI's site that they have catalyst by itself or bundled with a control panel..Also I found a site that has Omega drivers..which should I use?

thanks

I like Catalyst. They are also more flexible compared to omega because you have to choose what setting you want prior to installation, which kinda sucks.

I switched without probs..drivercleaner did the trick!
Question though..My motherboard is an nforce2 IGP with onboard VGA (no option in BIOS to shut it off). When I installed the ATI card it found a 9800 pro and a 9800 pro - Secondary. Is this normal? Is it because my motherboard has onboard vga or is it because the ATI card has a D-sub and DVI connector?

thanks

Yes.

If you right click on the desktop, go to properties, then settings...you see that on the screen there is a '1' and '2,' clicking on either will let you change the settings for a secondary montior.
