The best thing to study, IMO, is a couple of the study guides you can download off like Kazaa... usually they're PDFs. Helped me when I did mine. Also, this book I have called "A+ Certification Exam Guide" by Michael Meyers was really helpful.

My advice: Read it straight through without worrying about memorization. But do pay special attention to the sample questions at the end of each chapter. Make sure you can answer those and know why the right answer is the right answer. Me and 2 friends took the test at the same time so we had a big cram session the night before and quizzed each other on the drive to the testing center (2 hrs. from our city). Oh yeah, there's some good flashcards you can buy cheap too... forget the brand, but they were great. Anyway HTH.

To be able to ask the chapter quiz, you still have to memorize all those specifications though

One of the funniest (and hardest, if you dont know it probably) questions on my a+ hardware exam was
"Click on where the 386 processor goes on the motherboard" and it gave a black and white drawing with a bunch of rectangles on it.
ex: http://exilum.com/pics/mb.jpg

The hardware part is freaking simple (way to easy), OS you have to remember sh!t.....

for cpu, know the first pentium chips and up. external/interal bits, cache level, support such as 3dnow, mmx, blach blah.

for ram, theres not much varietion, so just know em all. FPM, EDO, SDR, DDR, rambus (16, 32bit),

That's a funny question
But obviously itz the rectangle which is located on the top. Cuz i think that manufaturer tended to place the cpu in the middle right?

I don't know anyone who took A+ and didn't wonder WTF they were smoking. I've only seen practice tests, but they're just plain funny.
