No, microwaves are just faster! 5-7 minutes depending on size of spud and microwave. Although I suppose you could do most of the cooking in the micro, then finish it off in a toaster oven.Originally posted by: TheSiege

I kind of clean them agressively, though. I mean, I use the scrubber side of the kitchen sponge and scrub the skins down pretty thin. Maybe that's why the microwaved skins don't bug me so much ('cause they're really thin). It could also be because I haven't had an oven baked potato in like 15 years.
