how to stop websites from getting my email address??

How should i setup IE and mozilla to stop websites getting my email address?? Everyday i get junk emails like crazy...

i don't type my address on any bogus websites... but i think there are scripts out there that websites use to get the email address...

nope. The only way a web site can get your email address is if you give it to them. The spam you're getting is either coming because a site you subscribed to sold your address to spammers, or because your address is easily predictable (example: tom45@hotmail.com).

Also, never click on Unsubscribe, because all that does is validate your address as one that is active, so it will send you more!

Yeah, i found this out the hard way! I used to click on all the unsubscribe buttons, then heard in here about 6 months ago that that's what actually happens, but by then i was already getting about 10-20 a day in my Hotmail account. After just deleting them it went down to about 5 a day, then i decided to give up with hotmail and just use my other email account for Messenger - the only thing i had the hotmail account for!

Try "mailwasher" it enables you to block or bounce back unwanted spam or e-mail. before it is opened in outlook. less stuff to delete once in outlook
