This is something that has drove me nuts since I got these glasses. I went several times to the optometrist to change the lenses to a different type of anti glare, but it just wont cut it. They still reflect a lot. Basically if there's any source of light behind me such as a window or a computer monitor, it reflects and creates a glare. Most annoying thing ever. At work I have a window behind me, I have to close the curtain, but people always open it back. It's a constant battle, and they think I'm weird for closing it all the time but don't realize just how annoying this is.

Is there anything I can do to the lenses to stop this? Like, some kind of coating like they put on LCD screens? I should just bite the bullet and go for laser eye surgery, but I'm chicken. The thought of having blades and lasers into my eyes makes me cringe. I'm really sensitive in that area. Just putting my finger really close makes my eyes water, I can't imagine having knives at it.

I don't think it's your glasses. You don't see the glare on your own glasses unless you look in the mirror or you're in a picture. I think you're complaining about the glare coming off of your monitor.

They have these cloth privacy screens that they used to put on old CRTs but I haven't seen those around for a while.

Try wearing sunglasses.

No it's the glare from the other side of the lenses. Like if the window behind me is open and it's bright out, it reflects in from behind the lenses and into my eyes. Given the window is big the light comes in at an angle so my head does not block the reflection.

I'm wondering if I should just get a new frame that will make the lenses closer to my face that way my head will stop the light from entering the glasses at that angle.

You can buy anti reflective glasses. I saw a link on ATOT for a place that has decent glasses with an anti reflective coating for a good price. At the B&M store they can charge over a $100 for anti reflective coating, at this website it is like $5 bucks.

Who doesn't get AR coating on glasses? I noticed Americans don't for some strange reason.

When I was a kid back in Korea, my first set of basic glasses in 1992 had AR coating. It was cheap too.

The prices of glasses are so fucking bloated in US thanks to all that insurance bullshit.

What? Every pair of glasses I've gotten since I was a kid had AR coatings. Outrageous lense prices has little to do with insurance.

better high index lenses with better anti-reflective coating. Don't get the cheap lenses and then add the anti-reflective coating, you want the expensive lenses with the AR coating already on it from the manufactory. you are looking at >$400 for brand like ZEISS.
