how to stop headboard from banging the wall when i'm tapping it?

Any tips besides moving it further away? Don't want a 3 inch gap because it'll look weird.

Secure it to the wall. Or put something between the headboard and wall, such as rubber bungs or something.

edit: someone get that chart and draw a line through, 'does it move,' 'yes,' 'should it,' and 'no.'

iirc conclusion is secure it. had fourth item been a yes, your headboard would require lubrication.

Secure headboard better, put rubber on the back of the headboard or on the wall, use insulation strips, whatever... there's a thousand different ways to fix the problem.
