How to stop fax spam?

I am sick of getting fax spam. They have a remove number that I can call to get removed from their list. If I do, will I get removed? Or will i just get more junk faxes?

tape a few sheets of black construction paper together, feed one end into the fax, then as it comes out, tape it to the other end making a loop. Fax it the thier number. It won't stop them, but revenge is sweet.

Its better if you can see the fax coming in on the other side.

Get a lawyer friend to draft up an official-looking (or actually official) C&D order and fax it back.

Fax spam is illegal, last I remember. You can sue for them costing you money for toner, paper, etc.

Fax Spam is illegal in the United States.
It is punishable by a $500 per instance fine!

Restrictions on use of telephone equipment
* ( a ) Definitions
As used in this section-- * * * * ( 2 ) The term telephone facsimile machine means equipment which has the capacity
(A) to transcribe text or images, or both, from paper into an electronic signal and to transmit that signal over a regular telephone line, or (B) to transcribe text or images (or both) from an electronic signal received over a regular telephone line onto paper. * * * * ( 4 ) The term unsolicited advertisement means any material advertising the commercial availability or quality of any property, goods, or services which is transmitted to any person without that person's prior express invitation or permission. * ( b ) Restrictions on use of automated telephone equipment

Won't work, most fax are sent and recieved using a computer. It will just show up as images in their fax software.
