How to stop driver install in XP

How in the heck do you stop XP from installing its own driver?
I want to install a clean set of drivers, but after I uninstall my vid card drivers and reobot XP installs its own and I can't figure out how to stop it. Then I usually just install over them.
I would rather do a clean install of my drivers
 
Use Driver Cleaner in safe mode,follow the instructions in the readme file,I would also recommend you run cab cleaner as well(found in tools section of Driver Cleaner).
