How to sterlize and clean hair trimmer?

I have one of these hair trimmers. According to it's manual on page 3, you are not supposed to use any liquids on it. So how am I supposed to sterlize and clean it properly? Now it says do not rinse in any liquid, does that mean I can just wipe it with a wet cloth? If so, what kind of disinfectant should I buy?
 
Don't trust what I say, but I would dip it in 99% alcohol, then let it dry out. I don't think that would damage the internals.
 
If you're the only one who is using it, why sterilize it? If you're sharing it, then that's a completely different situation.
