How to start mobo/PS without case...?

Ok, what Im trying to do is build a computer into my dresser without a case being involved...how exactly do I get the system to power on though? Can I just put a jumper on the prongs normally connected to the case button?

Anything that can act as a momentary switch will work.
ie, Screwdriver, jumper ect ect, I wouldnt recommend leaving the
jumper on, it may cause some kind of problem. Your best bet would be either
to rip off a old reset switch from an old pc and use it. Radio Shack would also
sell momentary switches you could easily wire up.

HI,
Yes you can but, you only have to jump for a sec. I build a lot on my lab bench and I use a small Knife, what you need are momentray switch's 1 for power 1 for reset

Ok, how involved is it to wire those "momentary switches" in? Would I have to do sodering and such? Because right now my skills with the sodering gun are quite...ahem, pitiful 🙂

The momentary switches will PLUG ONTO the MOB DO NOT SODER,do you have any old case's I would take the reset, power and the HDD LED, they will the plugs and the price is right,if not then off to Raido Schack they may have with the pig tails on

Hmmm, well I think I do have some old cases I can scrounge from...they're AT style though will that make a difference? If not, then I can easily get ahold of them (the office I work for just cleared out all their old Pentium aged computers) since theres a ready supply 🙂 If it does make a difference though...I dotn know, I'll figure something out. Thanks everyone!
