note, this has nothing to do with the thread asking for information on patents

i'm planning to start a web-based business sometimes next year. And since i have no basic knowledge about business (not just web-based), i'm wondering about a few things...

first, how do i protect myself from someone stealing my name?
Let's say i build mywebcompany.com as my company name (as well as the url). What do i have to do to make sure that someone doesn't come along and make my-web-company.com and claim that i'm copying his idea and sue me?

In this case, do i have to work on getting copyright, trademark, or something else?

If i have to get mywebcompany.com trademarked, how do i go about it?
(i'm planning to make it TM-ed internationally)

Also, do i have to put all the trademark and/or copyright info on the logo i use for my site?

What else are there to consider in terms of making sure that nobody copy me and claim that i'm the one copying them?

thank you.

go and talk to an IP attorney to discuss you concerns and what kind of protection you want.

Business licenses and trademarks are your friends. Buddy up to a lawyer, suck his dick, contribute to the steady decline in the progress of humanity, and you'll be fine.

It might cost you $1k to get it all done, but it is worth it in the end.

<-- Is getting stuff trademarked etc.
