How to "spread" long drop down listing in "Start\Programs" ?

Once one has a bunch of programs in start, the listing eventually is tto long and then arrows appear at the bottom (or at the top if scrolling down)...I knew of a way to change the way the drop down list icon category titles appear on the screen so that they spread across the screen once the screen bottom is reached...but, I can't recall how to do it.

Anyone know ?

😕

Man, I used to know this answer. In WinXP it is defaulted to show accross rather than down. But 98se goes down. Have you tried right clicking on the menu to see if there is an option to change to view?

I recommend looking at your start menu as a company with different departments. ie: Communications, Operations, Supply, etc. I guess you can tell there is some military background there.

I have mine set up with seperate folders for Internet, Office, Utilities, Hardware, Games, Graphics, and Sound. So my start menu is really quite compact. Everything related to those topics are in their respective folders.

It would help if we knew what OS you were running. I know there's a hack (single registry entry) that you can use to get the "all-showing" view in Win98.
