How to spell: gray or grey?

I think it's one of those Canadian vs. American spelling things (like colour vs. color). I am not exactly sure though. I've always spelled it grey.

i work for a cataloguing company, we standardize big comanies inventories like grainger, wesco, mro

we always use gray, its a thing that constantly pops up.

More typically &quot;gray&quot; is used. I use &quot;gray&quot;.

But technically &quot;grey&quot; is more appropriate since the word is derived from the middle English word &quot;grei&quot; which obviously has no &quot;a&quot; in it.

I thought that 'grey' is British English and 'gray' the American version, just like in American English 'colour' is changed into 'color'.

Luckily it is acceptable to use both.

Right, but if you look up Gray, it says it's a varient of Grey! :p
