how to sleep mode in winXP??

title says it all.....
somebody told me to press F8 when comp boot up and that brings me the boot up menu. it gives me 3 options that is to boot from A drive, C drive or from CDrom but nothing about sleep mode. any alternatives???
btw, i'm using winXP home edition with service pack 1
