I'd like to power off my computer remotely. I've tried ShutDownNow! but unfortunately it only shutdowns the computer and doesn't power it off. shutdownnow will shut off my comp with acpi only if i use the timer, and not if i shutdown remotely.

any ideas on what to do?

thx in advance

There are always remote control power outlets. You can push a button to cut power, but that probably wouldn't be good for your computer.

most of the time on an acpi system shutting windows down will shut down the computer completely. If you have xp pro, you can use the remote desktop. Or try something like pcanywhere from symantec. Sorry, don't know too much about this, just trying to give you ideas. Hope it helps.

This is assuming that by remotely you mean from another computer, like at work or something.
