Any one know how to ship a Y Pipe?

35"x29"

I read that one way you can do it is to wrap in bubble wrap, protect the ends, and then wrap in cardboard, and tape it together.

Looking for the cheapest/safest way possible.

any tips?

As long as it's not too heavy, your wrapping description sounds good. Then I'd suggest going to USPS, UPS, and FEDEX (use the "get detailed quote" button) websites to determine whether they'll take the package, and how much they'll charge you to ship it to it's destination.

Post office has some size restrictions, as well as weight. Other carriers have a weight restriction, but are pretty liberal with size.

I know this sounds like you're still doing all the work, but honestly........every time I ship a package, I get it all ready to go, then go to those three websites and determine what the shipping cost will be, then ship it by whoever's cheapest. Most of the time, for me, it's Fedex. For you, might be someone else.

Hope that helps! :)

you might consider just sending it truck freight. UPS or fedex will probably use 'dimensional weight' or some such and charge you for a hundred pound package.

From CA to IL I paid $38 for a 12lb Y-pipe to be sent by Fed-Ex Ground. I wrapped it in bubble wrap and then in strips of cardboard with a roll of tape.

I would suspect that would be $50 or more now as shipping rates are way up from about 2yrs ago.

Have you checked Greyhound? I sent a complete MR2 exhaust (not all that big...but I imagine a lot bigger and heavier than your Y-pipe) from NH to CA for ~$70, I think. The only downside is it would have to be picked up at a bus station.

HR Y-pipe? Mine was shipped to me with layers of bubble wrap around it. No cardboard though.

I'll probably be selling mine soon.. FI exhaust on the way. ;]

No sales outside the FS/FT section, this is your only warning.

Its off a 07 Nismo Z. Not sure on mileage.. I've put about 10k on it myself.

I also might decide to just keep it incase I ever decide to get rid of the FI exhaust (don't think I'd want to.. but you never know!).

It wasn't a FS/FT type post, but okay.

He was just warning you, no biggie.

We are discussing. Not selling or buying of any kind at least for now and especially not in this thread.

Nissan made so many different variants of the Y Pipe its nuts lol. Only the ones off the 07/08 Z give you some HP and TQ.

Just for clarification... Saying that you are "probably selling x soon" is considered a WTS post???

Really?
