How to Share VPN connection?

Hi,

My Windows 7 computer(Main computer) is connect to Internet via a LAN network adapter. And I purchase a VPN account and can connect to VPN very fast.

Now I want all computers in my office can share the VPN connection since I only have one VPN account(and for some reasons I cannot purchase any more accounts)

I purchase Wireless USB adapter for all computers in my office, as well as a wireless router.

I try the following solution:

1. The firmware on the router is based on openwrt system. So I try confirm the router so that it will connect to VPN server via PPTP. And all the computers will connect to the router.
However, I find the speed of the VPN connection became very slow, ony about 1/5 of the VPN connection speed on my main computer. So I have to abandon this solution.
2. I try to confirm the Wireless USB adapter on my main computer to SoftAP mode. And let other computers to connect to the wireless network and share the VPN connection on the main computer. But I find the signal of the Wireless USB adapter is very bad and the connection is not stable.
3. I also try to use Windows 7’s “create temporary network” function in Wireless Network Management section. But find the situation is similar to 2.

It seems that with the Wireless USB adapter, since it is not designed as a Wireless signal sender(like Wireless router), its signal is not as strong as the Wireless Rounter.

So I just wonder if it is to let the main computer to connect to VPN, and then build a local network via all the Wireless USB adapter as well as the Wireless router so that all the inbound/outbound network traffics will go through the VPN connection on the main computer, thus to share the VPN connection. And the local network is built based on the wireless router to guarantee the best signal.

Thanks

Does the VPN provider not allow multiple users? You can't just install the VPN connection software on the other computers?

What VPN provider do you use? Mine allows more than one user. You just use the software, no routers and crap involved. They do have a DD-WRT package for routers flashed to DD-WRT.

My VPN provider only allow one device to connect to the VPN account at a time. But they allow me to use router. So it is the main reason why I have to use a router to let multiple computers to connect to VPN at the same time.

If you are still in the money back period, just ask for a refund and choose a VPN that allows multiple connections. The majority allows it. Actually, the best ones allow it.
