How to share printer using router to network?

Hi,

ok I have a fair bit of knowledge about computers but I'm a complete newbie to networking. One of my computers has windows xp and ethernet which connects to a wireless netgear router. my laptop has built-in wireless which also accesses internet from the wireless router. sharing internet works perfectly fine, but i want to set up a network where I can share my printer and files between the two computers. How can I do this?

I've been through the whole procedure of setting up a small home network using Network Setup Wizard in windows xp. When I try to setup the network on the laptop, it says it's setup but when I go to My Network Places or Network Neighborhood it says it can't connect to the workgroup computers and doesn't show me anything. I've used the same workgroup name for network setups on both computers. What am I doing wrong? Can someone give me a step-by-step guide?

Thanks!
