Ok, so the A/V purists hate me already, and have sent a virtual punch to the face, but I am looking on advice for setting up the z906 5.1 system. I have an HTPC in a closet, and it requires 30' cable to reach the TV room. Should I worry about noise with this long of a span? I am guessing I can do:
1) Use the onboard sound (P5N-E SLI) to send analog signal to the unit (via 3x 3.5mm cables)
2) Use the SPDIF output to send digital signals to the unit.
3) Buy a decent sound card, and do either 1 or 2. For 1, it will have better DACs than onboard. For 2, it could do encoding on the fly for non Dolby sources (games, music etc).
Thoughts? Thanks!
