I am a regular gamer at CS. Me and my friends would like to setup our own server. We have a computer with some of the requirements that I have found in other forums. I am wondering when I get all the requirements for a server, I have no clue what to do after that. I would like to know how to start a dedicated server, information about how to get and use admin or amx for my server, how to setup stats, and finally any other that a beginning server user/builder for Counter-Strike will need. Any information will be helpful.

Most residential broadband access will be severely limited on the upload side (usually 256k or 384kbps) and that's a killer for any medium sized FPS game server.

If you're serious about it, I'd consider renting some space from one of the big game server providers.

Yeah... your upstream bandwidth will be the limiting factor. With regular Counter-Strike, not Source, I could host an 8 person server with my 256k upstream. Pings would start to increase when more than 4 people (besides me on my LAN) were connected though. Source is even more demanding, so I'd guess that you could host a 4-6 person server with 256k upstream.
