hi,
I'm trying to make my own website, but I do not know what steps I should follow...
Do I buy web space from someone? How do I register a domain?
What are the options when building a website?

can anyone tell me how?/
know any website that have a guide in building a website?

How did anyone in here build your website?

I'm trying to make one for personal and one for the business.

thanks all

You would want to get a hosting package, there are so many hosting companies out there it could be a tough search. Read up on hosting companies, try www.webhostingtalk.com. Figure out how much disk space you think you are going to need and make sure there is room to upgrade (and watch out for high priced upgrades). You can register a domain at any domain registrar you want, godaddy.com and namecheap.com are good places. Some domain registrars charge more, mostly because they have a popular name and can get away with it. There is very little difference between domain registrars (at least how they handle registrations anyways). Once you get the domain you will simply need to point it to your hosts name servers (they will give them to you).

There are a few options you have in regards to building a site. Some hosts provide online tools such as Site Studio which will allow you to build a basic site by basically filling in blanks. These are generally very limited and not a good way to learn how web design works. A lot of people use FrontPage, but I wouldn't personally go near it. I would say look into doing some basic code yourself in Notepad, or try out Dreamweaver.

Good-luck!
