How to setup interviews... while still working?

I'm starting my search for a new job. My question is how do I best setup interviews and clear the time off at my current job without pissing too many people off? Only thing I can think of is to fake medical appointments, but I really don't want to end things here on a dishonest note.

You have vacation days, don't you?

Line up the interviews on a day you can take off.

Arrange interviews on days off - put in some overtime to get more of them when you need them

My previous experiences with interviews is that they've been set up on rather short notice.

Or setup interviews after work is over. I've scheduled interviews at 4:30PM and gotten off work at 4PM. I've even scheduled interviews during my lunch and let my boss know that I need to take an extended lunch.

Don't keep using "medical excuses" though. That is usually a sign that you are job searching. I found that out after I had a boss ask me if I had been going on job interviews when I had been going to the doctor. I was one step away from taking my shirt off to show her the scar on my shoulder where I had a black mole removed.
