The first question is does your video card have TV out? I assume it does. Q#2: Is it RCA or s-video? RCA is a knob sticking out from the back of your card that has a single hole in the center; s-video is a little black circle flush with the back of the card that has multiple holes in it. Q#3: Does your TV have RCA/s-video jacks on the back of it? Q#4: Will your PC be in the same room as the TV?
Maybe something like
this is what you need. Remember, you'll have to plug in a cord from your sound card to the RCA audio jack on your TV if you want sound.
If your answer to Q#4 is no, then you still need the cables, but instead of plugging your sound/video card directly into your TV, you'll plug them into an audio/video "sender," then plug an a/v "receiver" into your TV/VCR. You can get the sender/receiver and remote control from
x10. Do a search for "Entertainment Anywhere" and "MouseRemote." BTW, with this setup you'll be able to browse the web, play games, etc. in addition to watching DVD's.
Good luck and tell us how it turns out.
