Short answer: sort of, depending on which OS it is. Generally you use the bootloader of whichever OS you installed first to choose which one will be loaded at startup.
From a hardware perspective - I would suggest a second HDD - then have separate OS's on separate drives and be able to switch between them. Mobile racks are the easy way to do this, and you will not be bothered by any inter-OS conflicts.
