How to set size of Internet Explorer windows?

hello,

Using IE 6.0, everytime i click on a link and it opens a new window, the window is set at a specific size. Does anyone know how to adjust this so that everytime i click on a link, it opens to the set window size?

Any help appreciated

ok, i figured it out, i knew it had something to do with the Shift key.

I actually use Firefox sometimes, have both. Never tried Opera, will give it a try. Thanks.

I prefer Opera over Firefox, but it has a stupid ad at the top. You have to buy it to get rid of it.

This worked for me in the dim and distant past when I used IE (Firefox fan here 😀 )

1. Close all IE windows except one.
2. Select any link and 'open in new window'
3. Close the previous window (so you still have only one window open)
4. Drag the window edges till you get the size you want (don't use mazimize or minimize)
5. Hold down the ctrl key and click on the X to close IE.
6. Ensure the icon properties Run box is 'Normal Window'

Next time you start IE it should open up to the size you specified.

If that does not work you may have to modify the registry for 'Remember last window size'. Do a google to see how that is done, I'm not sure.

What did you figure out. Are you talking about changing the default window size or keeping the windows size fixed all the time.

I use Admuncher which can force windows to default size and to have all the standard toolbars, but sometimes it does not work.

Is there any way with maybe SP2 to force the same window size and have the default IE toolbars at all times. Maybe disable any mouse interference as well?

There is a way to set the default size and that is to close the last IE window open to the size you want it to default to next time its open. Of course this is when you are not using maximized windows. Works fine for full screen but it always opens a new window staggered below the command bar of the last one open.
