Right now i'm having to set the brightness manually for both but i would like it to auto to half when on battery and full when plugged in. I didn't find any brightness settings in power manangement where i assumed it would be. Thanks in advance for any help!

Well the power management software on my T42 is an older version than your X60. Whenever my T60 finishes benchmarks I can install Battery Maximizer and give you the details.

But just play with the Battery Maximizer and look around every menu option there, it is there.

P.S. Browse around http://forum.thinkpads.com, great Thinkpad resource.

Thanks. Yeah i just registered for it but my account isn't active yet. I've been browsing there for a while but now that i have a thinkpad i figured it would be time to join.

OK so its called Thinkpad Power Manager, not Battery Maximiser. Double-click on the Green battery icon on your task bar, create a new Power Scheme, and there will be two drop boxes at the bottom of the screen. Those are display brightness for battery and AC settings. Play around with Power Manager, it rocks!!
