how to set aspect ratio for Vista Media center

Hi, I am having a problem with the aspect ratio of Windows Media Center. I have the aspect ratio set at 1440x900 in the program, which is my native resolution. When I have the media center program open to full screen, it scales to fit the screen properly.

However, when I go out of full screen but still leave the window open, it somehow is not in widescreen aspect ratio anymore. It looks like 4:3 ratio. This means that it does have the same aspect ratio as the display when the window is partially open. I am pretty sure that it used to scale properly to the screen when partially open.

If I try to resize the window, I can either make it bigger or smaller, but cannot change the aspect ratio. I mean that I cannot leave the height the same and make it wider by pulling the side of the window. It just makes the whole window bigger. I have this problem anytime media center is not full screen, i.e. whatcing TV, viewing the program guide, etc.

I know this is a sort of confusing post, but basically I am asking if anyone knows how to make the Windows media center window have the same aspect ratio of my display when the window is only partially filling the screen. I have tried all of the scaling options in the nVidia control panel, and nothing seems to change this.
