Hey all, I just got a Radeon LE with TV out from Newegg. I wanted to take movies and videos I got on the computer and put them on vhs. I went ahead and attached the composite out cord to the rca video in on the vcr. I also split the line out from the sound card and plugged that in the vcr. Lastly, I enabled a scheme to send out video to the vcr. However, when I record (movies, whatever), I dont get anything on the tape at all. No video, no audio...nothing. Are there some settings I must hit in the vcr to make it run correctly with this setup?

Just for anyone who was inclined to weigh in, I got it fixed. I had to lug a tv in from the other room and hook it up to the vcr so I could see the options. There was a special command you had to give via remote to get the av jacks to kick in.

Not too bad actually. Recording quality on the vcr is ok, but not superb. Obviously, the better the source file, the better the result. If I had an s-video connection on the vcr, Im pretty sure the recordings would be top notch.

However, now Im on a new quest. Instead of taping stuff with the vcr, I want to get this signal out to my main tv and suround sound system. I think it is about 25' or so. I looked at Radio Shack (I know) and the RF modulator is perfect for this. It's $30. Now I just need to find out if composite cables can carry a signal 25' or so without too much signal degradation.
