How to send a pm?

For the life of me I can't figure out how to send a pm in this new forum layout.
I went to this post:

And wanted to send a pm to CurrentlyPissed , but how? There's no link to pm in the thread, if I click on his name, a popup opens, but there's no pm or start a conversation there either.

Click the username of member (in a thread, you can try it on mine). A window should pop up where "start a conversation" is one of the options.

There's also a direct, manual link to start a new conversation:

You can get to it in the future via the mailbox icon/tab (click your avatar on the right of the top menu bar to bring it up). The option for starting a new conversation is there.

That wasn't there before. I had a tab open from when I made this thread, and when I clicked on the user, there was no option to start a conversation. After a page refresh, the option showed up.
Anyway, thanks for the detailed instructions.
