How to save this file?

I want to save a pdf file to my hard drive, but the link I click on is a redirect link (so I can't right click on it and say save as), and then it redirects to a pdf file, which it opens in IE. I want to save the darn thing to my hard drive, not view it in IE! Anyone know a way around this?

GetRight, GoZilla, XFileGet, or any file download manager. Or learn to use Internet Explorer :)

I don't know about Reader, but full Acrobat has a save icon even if the file opens in IE. It still launches Acrobat and it's toolbar.

My version of Adobe Acrobat 5 reader allows me to save a .PDF file by selecting the diskette icon.

if you know the URL for the file, you can create a dummy HTML page on your PC, just one line with the link in it, then right click on that and save target as.

It amazes me how many people reply to threads without bothering to read the two-line post.

Worked for me

Right click, save as. An HTTP redirect should pass through with the download.

Did you actually try to open the file? It's like 4-5 megs I think, and on my 56k it downloaded instantaneously, and won't open in Acrobat. It's still now saving right, it wants to redirect. If nothing else, go to FruityLoops.com, click on download, and then click "Manual 3.5.4" or whatever.

It is a different file on the same server, nto the PDF one. It was in the same directory with the same name besides the extension. I assumed it was the PDF in compressed format, but it is a microsoft DOC file. I assume it is the same info though.

I still can not get the PDF. I get a 0k file weather I lick on it or "right-click save as" :(
