i use the wipes i got to clean my glasses from the eye doctor. my laptop has a matte finish tho and not glossy, but it shouldn't matter either way i'd guess. i'm sure a bunch of companies sell special cleaning clothes as well, try google?

i read my manual and they say a damp cloth but that makes horrible streaks... and it says not to use chemicals...

Sprayway works like a champ on LCD screens, glass, etc. and doesn't leave streaks. It even works fine when you use a soft paper towel. You can find it at your local Wal-Mart or other fine shopping establishment.

i got this cheap silverstone cleaning kit (around $10) that includes a micro-fiber cloth and a bottle that contains basically alcohol, water and some other chemicals that basically cause the solution NOT to leave streaks behind. works great.

Sprayway is 100% safe and it's what I use to clean all of the monitors and laptop lcd's that I come in contact with.

I do it the same way as Slikkster explained above.

I mix a little bit of distilled H2o + alcohol, 50%/50%. USe distilled so there won't be any spots from minerals dissolved in the water.

Turn monitor off & wait till it's entirely cool, to prevent any of the solution from "baking" spots onto the screen..

Then I just gently wipe with an old T-shirt dipped in the mix. It works very well.

Actually Slikkster's spray-on method sounds even better.
