How to run power to a wallmounted display...

I'd rather do the breaker surge protector than the $79.95 wall outlet. I'll just find out what circuit the rest of my equipment in that room will be on and jumper off that outlet...there's an outlet directly below where I want to mount the TV anyhow.

Outlet behind the unit is required by code, some people were running just the cord through a hole in the wall . Instead of replacing the breaker you might want to check with your local electric company. Here they will install a whole house surge protector for $100 + labor and that covers everything in the home.

I ended up finding the Leviton 7280. It's a receptical with a surge protection alarm and some models have noise filtering. Amazon is selling them for $28.43 each with free shipping.

The reason this works best for me is because my surge protection needs are localized to the 2 screens I'm installing. I'm able to run these off the existing circuit without doing more than running a 4-5 ft Romex link to the existing wall boxes below my installs.
