How to run 3 monitors off of one 8800gts?

Theres only 2 ports on the back of the card, and i have 1 22'', and 2 17'' monitors. What do i need to run all 3 together? I want to be able to like play games on the 22'', and use internet on the right one, and play music/videos on the left one.

You need a second card or some type of expensive 3rd party splitter. The card will only output 2 outputs at a time anyway.

Wow, so you can read an article while playing a 3d game and watch a music video of hot girls shaking it all at the same time? You should apply to NASA for their space shuttle launch program as they need individuals that can monitor 5 screens at a time hehe

Just get a cheap PCI card.

If your motherboard has dual PCI Express slots, get a PCI Express card instead as they'll be even cheaper. Not sure how much the splitter costs.

i know if you have sli, you can't have more than one monitor, which is pure bs. And for a cheap pci card, what do you mean by that? pci express card? second, non-8800gts card?

Just get a second display adapter, it doesn't need to be another GTS or even a PCI-E card. For best results, especially in Vista, get another Nvidia card.

Any graphics card that will fit into a free slot on your motherboard along with your current 8800GTS. For 2-D only output to a 3rd monitor it could be even be an ancient PCI graphics card.

You see where your current graphics card is plugged in? Now see the most bottom slots (usually white) 2-3 of them at the bottom of the motherboard? They are called PCI slots. Graphics cards back in the days used those slots and you can still purchase some today.

But if you have 2 SLI (PCIe) slots, I believe you can just continue to use your 8800GTS in the top slot say and in the bottom slot you can have anything like 6200 card PCI Express. They of course won't run in SLI, but that's not what you want anyway. This way you can set the primary graphics adapter to be 8800GTS for games and use 2 for monitors.

I haven't personally ever tried this configuration due to lack of 2 PCIe slots on my motherboards, but in theory it should work.

Matrox was a great 2d card maker, they just couldn't get the 3d part right.
I got this link from the game overlord.
It supports the above config.
And only requires one monitor ouput on the card.

drooling over the configs they show.
Wish I had the cash.

just get an nVIDIA Quadro PCIe and then get a Cinemassive Screen set-up and you'll be all set. =D
