Just in case you are/were an Apple fanboy (girl), bought an Ipad sight unseen ... and then came to your senses too late.

"If you want to trade up, or just get your money back, you should know what the ground rules are. Apple (AAPL) spells out its refund policy in detail here, but the key points can be summarized pretty succinctly:

- You have 14 calendar days to return your iPad to the place you bought it
- It must still be in working order (iPads DOA will not be accepted)
- You can't have engraved or otherwise personalized it
- It must be returned in its original box with all the accessories, manuals, ocumentation and registration forms that came with it
- You must pay a 10% restocking fee (i.e. $50, $60 or $70, depending what model you bought)

i was expecting a video of a person throwing a major fit returning his ipad, eventually throwing it on the floor and smashing it.

i was largely dissapointed

not much different from other items/shops. what's your point?

I don't think he was trying to make one, just pointing out the possible surprise of things like returning it within 14 calendar days + the mandatory restocking fee. It's nothing radical but I could see some people getting caught off guard with the above two conditions.

Not accepting DOA's is pretty fucked up.

They are probably thinking along the lines of a complete return, rather than exchange.

Nothing stops you from exchange it then return it.

Worst case call up your credit card company and have them deal with it.

This is the apple store anyhow. Eventually ipads will go out to best buy and other retailers like costco who have much looser return policies.

As long as you return it unopened there will be no restocking fee. I know this first hand when I returned my iPad when I decided to wait for 3G model.
