How to return a refurb mobo to newegg?

I just got my IS7-E and noticed that two holes on the cpu socket clearly looked burned. The previous owner must have cooked his cpu or something. I tested it and its a no go. Leds and fans fire up, but no cpu activity. I know newegg offers a 15 day return policy, but do I have to pay for the shipping back to them? Or can I RMA it back to abit? Funny thing is newegg says refurbs are tested back at the manufacturer. Luckily their USA rma center is in the city next to my town. I am surprised Abit allowed this to slip by.

Had to return a ASUS motherboard. Very painless. Just fill out the online form and pay the shipping back to NewEgg.

Newegg.com does not test any product, including refurbished items. Refurbished components are therefore only tested by the original manufacturer. Due to the varying quality of manufacturer testing, YOU ARE TAKING A RISK BUYING REFURBISHED PRODUCTS.

I don't think a lot of their "refurb" items are really refurbished. You pay your money and you take your chances.

I bought an MSI K7N2 Delta-L refurb that had a missing HSF lug. It worked fine with a three lug HSF, but showed some carelessness. The board works perfectly otherwise.

One guy recently bought a refurb 3400+ A64 which was actually an A64 3000+ with the heat spreader from a 3400+ glued on to it.:| Link

You should be able to RMA it back to Newegg, but you'll have to pay shipping.

I'm in the process of RMAing a refurb CPU, just login, fill out the form and send it to the address they give you.

I think I rather RMA it to abit. Abit will charge me $25 for repairs or replacement since it was a refurb/clearance bargain deal. I am reluctant to get refurbs again now that I am 1 for 2 from newegg. I rather pay $70 now to get a perfectly working IS7-E instead of $85 + $10 (return shipping to newegg) for a budget i865pe brand new board.
