downloaded 80% of a large file from ftp, but ftp's dead...would like to grab the rest from a webserver, but Getright and Download Accelerator won't resume...they just ask to overwrite :(

any possibilities/suggestions?

i dunno, but i'd give flashget a shot at it. make a copy of the file first though.

well doesn't it depend on the server? i think most *nix servers allow it by default.... hence the 'append' command in ftp.

DAP asks to overwrite it when i give it the directory where the partial download is...and Getright...it just saves in it's own temp format until completion and refuses to resume

thanks gopunk, FlashGet is working...does it do simultaneous download of parts as well...aka segmented downloads? would speed things up a lot

yes it does, it should do it automatically, i think the default is 5 segments. just right click, pause, go to properties, and set it whatever number of segments you want. as long as it's not an obscure file, you should be able to reach your connection's maximum speed.

All servers doesn't support resume. At least GetRight always says in the download window if one doesn't.
