Restricting the use of explicit language in the dictionary is one of the highlight features in the Mac OS X system. The users can limit the access to the inappropriate content in the sources like the dictionary, thesaurus as well as Wikipedia. You can find this option in the parental controls in the system preferences option. Here is you can restrict explicit language in the dictionary.
Step 1
Select ‘System Preferences’
Firstly, you should click the apple icon that is present at the top left corner of your mac screen as shown below. From the list of options, you need to choose ‘System Preferences’ option to view the system settings.
Step 2
Select ‘Parental Controls’
In the 'System Preferences' window, you will find many system related setting options. You need to choose the ‘Parental Controls’ option to view the control settings related to the system.
Step 3
Select ‘Lock Symbol’
In the parental controls window, you need to press the ‘Lock’ to get access to modify the parental control settings.
Step 4
Select ‘Use Password’
Now you need to choose the option ‘Use Password’ to get access and modify the parental control settings.

Select ‘Other Tab’
Choose the user from the left panel in the parental controls window. Then you need to click the ‘Other’ tab as shown below.

Enable Checkbox for ‘Restrict Explicit Language in Dictionary'
Here you need to enable the checkbox for ‘Restrict Explicit Language in Dictionary’ as shown below to ensure that the dictionary’s explicit language is restricted.
