How to restore backup/compact mail file on MS outlook?

I backed up (compact) mail file in MS Outlook before my system crashed, so I have to reinstall everything. I need
to get important information from email that I backed up.
The file is dbx format, I tried to open it with Outlook, but
it didn't work. Anybody knows how to do that, Please help.
