How to Resolve Loss of Service in iOS

A small percentage of users experience this issue after updating to a newer version of iOS. Before proceeding to any of the troubleshooting steps, users are advised to restart their phones at least three times to check if it works. If the issue still persists and users still get the No Service Error, then they can proceed with the following steps.

Step 1
Verify ‘Mobile Data’

The first and foremost factor to check is if cellular data is enabled, If not Click on ‘Settings’ > ‘Cellular’. Switch on 'Cellular Data'.

Step 2
Update ‘Carrier Settings’

Network service providers release updates time to time that contain network settings to enhance connectivity and performance of the network. Every time Apple releases an carrier update, it is mandatory to check and update network carrier settings if available, so that both blend to improve connectivity. To check the settings manually, click on 'Settings' > 'General' > 'About'. Immediately carrier settings would be prompted on screen to update if it is available or rolled out by network service providers.

Step 3
Check ‘Sim Card’

  • Switch off phone
  • Remove sim card
  • Check the sim card is intact without any damages
  • Place it in the sim tray with the chip side facing down
  • Restart the phone and check if the issue is fixed
Step 4
Reset ‘Network Settings’

This can be fixed by resetting the network settings. ‘Settings’ > ‘General’> ‘Reset’ > click ‘Reset Network Settings’.
