There are also cases where you hear sound in one app but nothing from another app. This is one of the most common issues when you upgrade your iOS device. In this guide, we'll show you how to resolve iOS 12 sound problems.

Step 1
Check ‘Volume’

Although it might seem obvious, yet when you have sound issues, the foremost thing you need to do is to check whether the volume is toggled since this is the speaker playing the volume.

Step 2
Turn Off ‘Do not Disturb’

When ‘Do Not Disturb’ is turned ‘On’ in your device, it can impact the sound. To do this, swipe the settings from the bottom of the screen, turn off the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option which is indicated by a crescent symbol.

Step 3
Open ‘Airplay’

There are possibilities that your sound is routed to apple TV or even a Bluetooth speaker, so it is affecting the sound volume. Therefore, ensure that it is not being used. Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Airplay’. Remove the other apps routed to sound.

Step 4
Device Issues

Users generally listen to music with headphones. When headphone is not unplugged properly, the device believes headphones are plugged in. Sometimes, there can be dust stuck to the pins or pins are bent, hence causing this issue. This can be fixed by taking the device to the nearest apple store.
