With the release of iOS 12, many users have started complaining that they send a message to one member of the family and it reaches some other member. The same issue occurs when they receive iMessages as they get wrong messages meant for someone else in the family. So, what is the reason of this issue?

Apple encourages each user to create a separate Apple ID. But, many users from the same family have been sharing the same Apple ID on different devices with different phone numbers and email addresses. Maybe, this update was released to push people who have been sharing common IDs along with family members to get their own Apple ID. We have figured out an easy fix to this problem explained step by step below:

Step 1
Launch ‘Settings App’

Step 2
Select ‘iTunes & App Stores’

Verify the email address, it should be yours. If not, change the email address.

Step 4
Click on ‘Send & Receive’

Make sure the phone number selected is yours or edit that if required. Once the entire above step is done, check your messages by sending each recipient a text to make a new thread and ask them to respond. Continue this with other recipients also in order to verify it’s actually working.
