Every time Apple releases an update, users experience issues thereafter. These issues can be resolved by a restart. One such issue after iOS 11 update is contact’s name doesn’t show during a call. Do follow the steps below to fix it.
Check ‘Caller ID’
The first thing every user should check is if their caller ID is enabled. If not, there are chances of users experiencing this issue. Click 'Settings' > 'Phone' > 'Show My Caller ID' > Enable it. Check if the issue is fixed. If not, before proceeding to step 2, do check if there are duplicate contacts in the contact list. Do check and remove them.
‘Update Carrier Settings’
The first and foremost reason can be outdated carrier settings. Carrier settings should be updated once the iPhone is updated to the latest iOS.
Click ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘About’.
Users can update their carrier settings over here by scrolling 10 to 15 seconds and a pop up will come up stating that “Your Carries Settings is Now Updated”.
‘Manual Carrier Update’
If carrier settings don’t prompt automatically, Users can call their respective service providers and inform them to update your settings.
Check ‘Date & Time’
Users should set their phones with exact time and date. Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Date & Time’. Turn off ‘Set Automatically’ so that manual time zone is set. If this doesn’t help, then proceed to step 5.
Reset ‘Network Settings’
Check resetting the Network Settings when the issue still persists. Click ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Reset’ > Reset Network Settings. This would fix the issue.
Follow these steps and your contact’s name will show while on a call on your iOS device.
