How to rescue a CDRW from a buffer under-run?

After experimenting with via IDE drivers (miniport), I got a buffer under-run on a CDRW.

Now the disk refuses to work? It will not erase, full or quick.

I was under the impression that CDRW's could still be used after buffer under-runs (thanks via for your great drivers) by simply formating them.

Any ideas how I could rescue this disk?

Thankyou for your time.

Are you sure it's a CDRW? Check the CD Properites option in your burning program.

If it is try a different CD Burning program to erase it.

Yep it's a cdrw, but it's dead. No program will write to or erase the damn thing. Other disks are fine.

Oh well, thanks for the reply Hugenstein. Guess I'll have to folk out another 50 pence or so for another one 🙂

Please tell me you're not using that crapware Adaptec Easy CD. It sucks, it couldn't burn at full speed on my drive, its GUI is pathetic, and in general it feels like a piece of <censored>. 🙂

It works. Not the best, but it generally works. No need to totally destroy it.
