How to: request Cellular carrier to utilize the Calling Name portion of the Caller ID info?
Example: a landline phone with Caller ID displays an incoming Florida based cell phone call as "Cell phone FL 333-222-2345". The cell phone caller should instead have the option of having "Actual Name FL 333-222-2345" display on a land line caller ID display. Does the FCC need to change their Caller ID rules for this to work? As is: the Calling Name of cell phone calls is not getting passed on properly.
Or: would the cell phone account holder need to make a special request with their cell carrier? Or is nothing to be done until the FCC mandates a Caller ID "rule change"?
Thanks in advance.
