How to request a review?

I would like to see Anandtech review in the labs these new toaster flex pcs like shuttle and others. I hope it canbe unbiased, since I see Shuttle is a paying advertizer now.

Who do you talk to to get a request like that looked into?

AT review of the Shuttle SV24
Anand's review of the Shuttle SS51 XPC

from the second article it looks like we will see further interest in this category of PCs...

Not too long ago, Shuttle introduced their first XPC, the SV24, a SFF PC based on the Socket-370 platform. The idea was neat and we even found a niche application for it, but we dreamt nightly (not really, we're not that bad) of a faster version; a SFF PC with an AGP slot and support for either an Athlon XP or Pentium 4. Shuttle answered our prayers and today they've introduced the world's first SFF PC that can be used by just about anyone.

edit: and I don't see advertising as having an effect on AT reviews. AMD, Corsair, Mushkin, Crucial, VIA, AOL (LOL! There's an advertising mismatch for ya 😛)...... all advertisers.

one thing that can help aswell is start a large disccusion on a peice of hardware or up and comming hardware / area in the applicable forum. I know Anand does his best to browse the forums for "interesting" stuff to write about now and again.

Pardon the interuption; just trying to see if I can successfully reply to a thread here in Forum Issues. I have tried to do so in the thread located just above this one that involved the "infamous" stabbing thread and it has not happened. So, if this works, treat it as a "bump"; I enjoyed the dialogue and thought it was excellent.

EDIT: BTW, that thread has not showed any hints of being locked but I am still not able to post to it. At this point I am more curious than anything else. I tried again to post to that thread but it again failed. Possibly it is in the middle of a "lock" (as probably it should) and the server is having trouble. Sorry to post this in an unrelated thread but as I said, I think the dialogue in this thread was excellent and if my "bump" caused anyone else to view it; I succeeded in "helping". Thanks for putting up with me here.
BTW, I again edited this for the wrong wording. I said "see if I can successfully reply to a thread here in OT" but obviously meant in Forum Issues. Thanks for understanding.

bizmark,

That review is almost a year old. Their have been many changes and adaptations, and now it is not a new thing , but something that has been in the marketplace for a while. And the 250 price tag is way off base for todays prices.

I was just asking what he process is to request a review of this genra of products. It may be this is not a forum issue, but an AnandTech mainpage issue.

This seems the right place to ask though, until directed elsewhere.

Shuttle SS51 XPC - A True High Performance Small Form Factor PC
Date: July 24th, 2002
Type: Mobile
Manufacturer: Shuttle
Author: Anand Lal Shimpi

My point is, that that's two reviews in 6 months.... one of them by Anand himself. In fact, the *only* article Anand has written in the "Mobile" section since his September 2000 article on the K6-2+. (Not that I'm saying that this really belongs in the "Mobile" section, but the "Systems" area now seems to be defunct, as the last article in that section is the Shuttle SV24 review.) To me, that indicates a strong interest in this product sector. And Anand saying "we dreamt nightly of a faster version" also indicates to me that he's keeping an eye out for new products in this area.
