How to replace engine mounts?

How easy/hard is it to replace the engine mounts? Anyone know a good online guide that explains how to do it?

I can't even begin to tell you how much that depends on what kind of car/engine you have.

it all depends on which motor mount it is. front, side front, side, rear? they are all fairly easy.

According to the book, labor times are as follows:

All Mounts 6.6
Front Mount 0.5
Rear Mount 1.7
Side Mount 0.5
Trans Mount 0.5

Why do you think you need engine mounts?

BTW, there's a TSB for "Idle Vibration/Harsh Shifting" - #06-030.

Basically it says the replace the front hydraulic mount.

According to the TSB, check this:

1. Bring the engine up to operating temperature, and fully apply the parking brake.

2. Have an assistant view the top of the front engine mount while standing to the side of the vehicle. Shift the transmission to Drive. With your foot firmly on the brake pedal, quickly depress the accelerator pedal and release it. Your assistant should look for contact between the top of the engine mount and the bottom of the front engine mount bracket, and listen for noise from that area.

The front, side, and rear mounts are either cracked or broken (depending on which one) thus why I need to replace them. I can't seem to find a good step-by-step procedure online that explains how to replace them.

I've never done one on a V6 Honda but from what I've seen it could be tricky because those engine bays are pretty crowded. Generally it's not a hard job though.

Edit - find the Haynes manual (or similar) for a step-by-step procedure. Your local library should have it.

I can tell you that AllData doesn't have the step by step - it's what I use for work and I'm online now checking.

Perhaps Mitchell. But I find that spottier than AllData. Or maybe as iamaelephant said, a Haynes manual.

I bought one for my car. They suck ass. The engine bay pictures in the manual don't look anything like mine. Aarrgghh!!!

Then try to get the official Honda service manual. I've got one for Ford vehicles '96-'99 for my Lincoln and it's a better reference than the Haynes manual I have (that covers RWD Lincolns from the 70's for the late 90's, way too broad a range. Most of the info is for the 5.0 motor they quit using in '91).

Speaking of manuals, what is the normal price for one? I was looking on ebay for mine and it looks like it will end at close to $100.

I found a Haynes manual for my car that I'll probably buy. When I first got the car, I tried to find a Haynes/Chilton manual. I even contacted Haynes/Chilton and was told they weren't available because Honda doesn't give out their authorized service manuals to anyone except Honda authorized service centers. Either that stance has changed or Haynes wrote their book based on a tear-down/rebuild.
