there is a wax stain on a wooden surface that won't come out (it may be the dye of the wax candle). It's not like a layer of wax, but rather the wood is smooth w/ that blue wax stain from the blue candle. any ideas on how to remove this stain?

Try using straight naptha on a rag or paper towel, but be very careful -- naptha is highly flammable and has been know to combust spontaneously. Drop the used rag into a bucket of water to be safe. Naptha works as a degreaser and is also effective for cleaning gunk off of furniture before refinishing.

you should be able to use a chemical finish remover for that. I have had good luck at lowes in asking for help and getting good replies. It is very likely that you may have to refinish the entire surface.
