hi,
my friend (who has aol dialup and thus can't get to the forums) just bought the makings for a brand new system including a 3.2 northwood and a lanparty875(rev. b) board, along with an aerocool HT-101 heatsink. the heatsink instructions tell him to remove the 'retention module' around the cpu and he can't figure out how to get it off. any advice for him?
thanks

It may be held on by hollow split-prong things like this. In that render, the green plane represents the mobo, the blue represents the prongs at the corners of the retention module, and the red plunger thing needs to be pulled out so the tip of the blue part can be compressed and withdrawn from the motherboard (obviously you need to get at the underside of the mobo to compress the tip).

Hope I'm on the right track here :)
