How to remove or change the region code of DVDs?

I lately purchased a DVD and found it's actually in Asian region code. I can watch the DVD on my computer but my TV dvd player can't play it. I guess my dvd player only supports US region DVDs.

I wonder if there is any software that I can rip the DVD , change the region code into US and construct an ISO image. Then I burn the ISO image into a DVDr, so that I can watch on my TV. Please help! I really want to enjoy my movie on my TV.

Thanks!!

First, wrong forum.

2nd, DVD shrink will remove region protection if you match it when you back up your disc

You cannot modify a DVD directly but you can modify it before you burn it

You might be able to hack the DVD player firmware though ;)

My Apex I got at least 5 years ago is still going strong. Think it was 40 bucks at the time.

Use DVD Decrypter to make it region free. (you can still find it at Doom9, in the downloads section)
